We are delighted to announce the historical appointment of National and NSW State President of the Australian War Widows, Rhondda Vanzella OAM to the Council of the Australian War Memorial. This is a appointment is the first for a President of a War Widows organisation to the Australian War Memorial.
We are thrilled Rhondda will continue her commitment to veterans and their families in this capacity and represent Australian War Widows in such a nostalgic and important position.
A member of Australian War Widows NSW since 2014, Rhondda began her term as NSW State President in 2016 and was appointed the National President of Australia War Widows Incorporated in October 2020. Rhondda is also a member of the Remembrance Driveway Committee. Rhonda has a number of other key roles including Ambassador on the NSW Government Centenary of ANZAC Council, member of the RSL Ladies Auxiliary, an affiliate member of RSL Bundanoon sub-branch and President of the RSL Rural Commemorative Youth Choir.
As both a war widow and woman united by defence service, Rhondda is passionate about creating ways to better honour and support women, veterans, and their families.
