Watercolour painting session for war widows, defence and veteran families
Who is this free activity for and why?
Join us in Chatswood on Wednesday 9 July 2025 for a free watercolour painting session, open to all war widows, defence and veteran families. Whether you’re a partner, parent, widow or adult child of someone who served in the ADF, you’re welcome to take part.
This hands-on activity is part of our Wellbeing Program and offers a relaxed space to try something creative, meet others with similar experiences, and take a moment for yourself.
Watercolour painting
War widows, defence and veteran families are invited to come together for a watercolour painting session facilitated by social worker Gabby at the Chatswood Families of Veterans Guild office. Plan a day out for the whole family this school holidays and discover the vibrant north side of Sydney!
Hop on the new Metro train (just a quick 14min ride from either Central to Chatswood or Ryde to Chatswood). Afterwards, enjoy a delicious morning tea, then feel free to explore the lively streets of Chatswood, with its great shops, dining, and unique attractions.
Kids are welcome to participate in the workshop under the supervision of a parent or guardian who must remain on site with their children for the duration of the activity.
There is no cost for this activity. Your watercolour materials and morning tea will be covered by Families of Veterans Guild.
Previous attendees to Wellbeing activities said “I just wanted to express my gratitude for being able to connect with such a wonderful group. It was such a great opportunity to do a self-care activity and get to know some of the other attendees at the same time.”
