Join us on Saturday 9 May for a Mothers Day afternoon tea for war widows, defence and veteran families. Celebrated around the world, Mother’s Day recognises the role of mothers, maternal bonds and the care they provide. Within the defence and veteran family community, this recognition takes on added meaning as Mother’s Day often recognises responsibility carried through service, separation and loss.

This free afternoon tea will be facilitated by our Wellbeing Team and will offer an opportunity to connect with other mothers and families over a delicious cake and coffee.

Mothers Day afternoon tea

Mothers in the veteran family and war widow community are invited to attend a Mother’s Day afternoon tea designed to honour their role and provide a moment of appreciation. This event offers an opportunity to slow down, enjoy some cake, and connect with other mothers of all ages in a welcoming environment. The afternoon tea will be held at Metropole Café, which is easily accessible by public transport and is a cozy setting that encourages conversation and connection.

There is no cost for this activity. Your afternoon tea will be covered by Families of Veterans Guild.
