Private tour of the War Memorial for veteran families and war widows
Join us for a private tour of the Australian War Memorial. We’re inviting war widows, defence and veteran families to come along for a private group tour of the Australian War Memorial in Canberra on Friday 11 July 2025, brought to you by our Wellbeing Program.
Whether you’re a partner, parent, widow or adult child of someone who served, this is a chance to visit the Memorial with others who share a connection to defence life. It’s a relaxed, no-pressure way to spend time together, reflect, and meet people who understand the ups and downs of service and life around it.
Tour of Australian War Memorial
This school holidays, war widows, defence and veteran families are invited to join us for a private tour of the Australian War Memorial. We will be walking over 80 minutes, covering the Commemorative Area and First and Second World War galleries. On this tour, you will learn about the stories of the men and women who have served the nation in war and on operations, the collection, and the vision of Charles Bean, the Memorial’s founder.
Free visitor parking is available in the P1 and P2 visitor carparks. More information about how to get to the AWM here.
