Create and connect: clay art session for war widows, defence and veteran families
Join us on Saturday 27 September 2025 at Kissingpoint Cottage for a free clay art workshop. Open to all war widows, defence and veteran families, this hands-on session offers a chance to get creative and connect with others in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Facilitated by social worker Gabby Steel from our Wellbeing Program, this sensory workshop will guide you in shaping and painting your own air dry clay pieces. Whether you finish on the day or continue at home, you’ll leave with something meaningful — and the benefits of a mindful, artistic activity.
Clay art session
War widows, defence and veteran families are invited to come together for an air dry clay experience. Facilitated by social worker Gabby Steel, veteran families will be guided to create art with clay. This clay sensory workshop offers a creative experience, allowing you to shape and paint clay designs for a hands-on, artistic project. Creating art with your hands can help boost focus, mindfulness and a sense of accomplishment. Afternoon tea will also be offered during the session.
There is no cost for this activity. Your clay art and afternoon tea will be covered by Families of Veterans Guild and Kissingpoint Cottage.
Previous attendees to Wellbeing activities said “I just wanted to express my gratitude for being able to connect with such a wonderful group. It was such a great opportunity to do a self-care activity and get to know some of the other attendees at the same time.”
