War widows, women, families, and distinguished guests are invited to gather to remember and commemorate the fallen at the Anzac Field of Remembrance on Thursday, 20th April 2023 at 11.00 am.
This solemn and touching event is held where the tradition began 71 years ago at St Andrew’s Cathedral, Sydney.
Please register now here to attend the service at St Andrew\’s Cathedral Sydney as places are limited.
After the success of our live stream last year to connect our far-reaching community, The Anzac Field of Remembrance service will be live-streamed online on Thursday 20 April 2023 at 11.00am via the Australian War Widows NSW Facebook page, YouTube channel and the St Andrew’s Cathedral Youtube Channel for the entire community to participate in.
Thousands of AWWNSW members will receive a small cross to write their loved one’s name on and lay at the ceremony or at home, a local cenotaph, garden or somewhere of meaning.
We are also hoping to host club events where members can gather and watch the live stream together on the day, and we will provide updates and locations when confirmed.
Many of our war widows live regionally or are unable to travel to commemorative events so having the opportunity to stream this event is our way of including as many of our community as possible.
We encourage all AWWNSW members, volunteers and members of the veteran’s community to be involved in the 2023 ANZAC Field of Remembrance.
If you wish to assist and volunteer on the day of the event, please email guild@warwidowsnsw.com.au or call 02 9267 6577.
