Create and connect: clay art session for defence and veteran families
Join us on Friday 15 August 2025 at RSL LifeCare Queanbeyan Veteran and Family Hub for a free clay art workshop. Open to all war widows, defence and veteran families, this hands-on session offers a chance to get creative and connect with others in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Facilitated by Wellbeing Support Officer Kerrie from our Wellbeing Program, this sensory workshop will guide you in shaping and painting your own air dry clay pieces. Whether you finish on the day or continue at home, you’ll leave with something meaningful — and the benefits of a mindful, artistic activity.
Clay art session
Defence and veteran families are invited to come together for an air dry clay experience. Facilitated by wellbeing support officer Kerrie Teo, veteran families will be guided to create art with clay. This clay sensory workshop offers a creative experience, allowing you to shape and paint clay designs for a hands-on, artistic project. Creating art with your hands can help boost focus, mindfulness and a sense of accomplishment.
RSL Queanbeyan Veteran and Family Hub morning tea will also be offered during the session. Attendees will take home their clay art to continue at home if they don’t finish it during the session.
There is no cost for this activity. Your clay art kit and morning tea will be covered by Families of Veterans Guild and RSL Lifecare Queanbeyan Veteran and Family Hub.
Previous attendees to Wellbeing activities said “I’m truly grateful for the chance to spend quality time with peers, connecting and enjoying each other’s company. It was the perfect opportunity to recharge, relax, and have fun.”
