Families of Veterans Guild

Wellbeing activity for defence families, veteran families, families of veterans and war widows.

Timezone activity

Veteran and defence family members are invited for a day of activities at Timezone Dee Why

Has any of your loved ones ever served in the Australian Defence Force? Are you connected to defence service in any way? Whether you’re the partner of a current member, a veteran spouse, parent, adult child or a widow of a veteran, we warmly invite defence and veteran families to join us for Timezone bowling and games on Wednesday 15 January 2025, brought to you by our Wellbeing Program in collaboration with RSL Lifecare.

Families of veterans and war widows make unique sacrifices during and after service. They balance the many demands of supporting a family, navigating grief and loss, relocations or adjustments, deployments or other absence from home, transition out of service or caring roles due to illness or injury.

Social connection, peer support and self-care are at the core of our wellbeing events. We acknowledge that veteran families may face barriers in developing and maintaining peer connections due to the unique nature of defence life, increasing their risk of social isolation and loneliness. The purpose of this activity is to encourage the families of veterans to focus on self-care and expand their social network by connecting with like-minded peers.

Timezone

Looking for a holiday activity to entertain the kids or simply looking to have some fun yourself? All ages are welcome! Parents must remain on site with their children for the duration of the activity.

Families of Veterans Guild, in collaboration with RSL Lifecare Hub Northern Beaches, invite Defence and Veteran Families to come together for a family activity at Timezone Dee Why. Join us for 2 games of bowling, 30 minutes arcade time play and a bumper car ride. You will also get a $10 voucher for the cafe.

Kids and adults alike are invited to spend some time in play. Registration is required for each individual participating in the Timezone activities. If adults are supervising but not participating, they do not require a ticket. All children are to remain under the care of their parent or guardian at all times.

There is no cost for this event. Your Timezone activity will be covered by Families of Veterans Guild and RSL Lifecare. Please bring socks and water, and arrive at 11.45am for a 12pm start.

Previous attendees to Wellbeing activities said “Thank you for organising this wellbeing activity. Getting out of the house, doing some exercise and connecting with peers was just what I needed!”
