AWWNSW ENEWSLETTER MAY 2023

Welcome to our May Newsletter!

April and May are significant months for the veterans community as numerous commemorative events and anniversaries fall on these two months. We have been busy attending these events and sharing as much as possible with you through social media platforms and our publications.

It was also an opportunity for us to advocate strongly for our community, with opportunities and media coverage focusing strongly on ANZAC day and the anniversaries of the Vietnam War this time of year.

After a month of paying our respects and of reflection, our hearts and thoughts go to all our veterans and their families, past and present, and their sacrifices. Lest we forget.

In this eNewsletter, we share the advocacy work we are doing and provide an update on support for bereaved children of veterans. Plus, we share our submission to the Government on the Veteran Legislation Review.

The Field of Remembrance and ANZAC Day were special days for our community. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to share our thoughts on what it means to be a part of AWWWNSW and the importance of the Field of Remembrance with ABC News viewers.

Our Northern Beaches Social Club celebrated its 70th anniversary. Members of our Board met with the His Excellency, General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley at Admiralty House.
