Castle Hill war widows celebrate first social outing at Lynwood Golf and Country Club
On Friday 15 November, the Castle Hill War Widows Social Club marked a significant milestone with their very first group outing as a new club. Held at the Lynwood Golf and Country Club in Pitt Town, this special event was organised by the club’s dedicated coordinator, Ann O’Connor, who has done an exceptional job in her role this year, alongside our War Widows Program team.
The outing brought together 8 members of the club with a delicious lunch was thoughtfully catered by the venue, able to connect the ladies for their first official club meeting. This initial meeting laid a solid foundation for future gatherings, helping to strengthen the sense of community among Castle Hill war widows. This gathering will continue monthly, allowing the ladies to gather at the wonderful venue to catch up over lunch and tea.
Adding to the day’s significance, special guest Brenda Morrison, the Parramatta War Widows Social Club coordinator, joined the gathering to show her support and share in the celebration. The event also served as an opportunity to extend a welcome to new members Carmel Simpson, Marion Smith, and Gail Davies.
This first outing marked the beginning of many more gatherings aimed at providing connection and friendship to war widows in the Castle Hill area.
