Social Worker (Volunteer and Program Support)

As a Social Worker, you will contribute to the delivery of services that support war widows and families of veterans. While this role is not primarily clinical, it draws upon social work values and professional practice to strengthen community connection, volunteer engagement, and program delivery.

Following on-the-job training, you will assist the Program Manager by:

  • Coordinating the administration and delivery of social and wellbeing activities.
  • Supporting, guiding, and empowering volunteers to deliver peer support services.
  • Providing reflective support and supervision-style guidance to volunteers within their roles.
  • Coordinating and attending community engagement and outreach activities to promote the work of the organisation.
  • Undertaking program administration tasks that underpin service delivery.
  • Collecting and collating program data to contribute to service evaluation and reporting.
  • Performing other reasonable duties as directed.

This position is suited to a qualified and emotionally mature Social Worker who is seeking a varied role that blends program and volunteer support, community engagement and some 1:1 casework.

The position may be based in Chatswood, NSW, and is offered as a hybrid role with a mix of work from home and office. As the Guild delivers services across NSW and the ACT, you may occasionally be required to travel. Some out-of-hours or weekend work may also be required.
