Families of Veterans Guild

Wellbeing activities

Free wellbeing activities for defence and veteran families

War widows, defence and veteran families can sometimes experience overwhelm when balancing the demands of supporting family, the impact of ADF service and/or in caring roles due to illness, injury and transitions. Social connection is at the core of our wellbeing activities. In addressing social isolation and loneliness, we acknowledge that veterans and defence families may face barriers in developing and maintaining peer connections due to the unique nature of defence life. The purpose of these activities is to encourage the families of veterans to engage in self-care activities and expand their social network by connecting with like-minded peers.

One day you will tell your story of how you overcame what you went through, and it will be someone else’s survival guide” – Brene Brown.

This is what our wellbeing activities are all about: creating a place for Defence and Veteran Families to connect, meet like-minded peers, build a network and share wonderful insights and powerful stories.

You do not need to be a financial member to access our program. All families of current and former ADF serving members can access our program for free.
