Families of Veterans Guild

South Australian war widows & veteran families

Welcome to the Families of Veterans Guild: supporting South Australian war widows & veteran families

A new chapter for war widows and veteran families in South Australia

In December 2025 Australian War Widows (SA) Inc. has voluntarily wound up its operation and entrusted its legacy and members to the Families of Veterans Guild (owned by Australian War Widows NSW Ltd).

This transition ensures that war widows and veteran families in South Australia continue to receive support, connection, and advocacy—honouring the vision of Jessie Vasey and the generations who have built this community.
The South Australian War Widows association has wound down after decades of service. To ensure no war widow or veteran family is left without support, the Families of Veterans Guild (owned by Australian War Widows NSW Ltd) will be expanding its operations to South Australia (SA) from 2026. This means widows and veteran families will have access to our programs, services, and community.

The Families of Veterans Guild is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting war widows, partners, children, and families of veterans (current and former serving). We provide advocacy, connection, social work and wellbeing support programs for all defence and veteran families, including war widows.

South Australian War Widows & Veteran Families.
