Support us, support defence and veterans families
Families of Veterans Guild, previously known as Australian War Widows NSW, was founded
on volunteering and donations. To show your support to defence and veteran families who
have sacrificed so much for our country, there are plenty of ways you can help out.
Donations
All donations are gratefully received and applied to funding our advocacy, social connection
programs and services to our community of members. All donations are tax-deductible and a
receipt will be provided.

Bequests
Making a Will is an important part of planning for the future. After you have provided for loved ones, making a bequest is a wonderful way to leave a lasting legacy and make a valuable contribution to our organisation.
No amount is too small. Whatever contribution you make, you can be sure that Families of Veterans Guild will use your gift wisely to continue our work.
Types of bequests
In giving to Families of Veterans Guild in your Will, you can choose to bequest:
- the whole of your estate
- the residue of your estate
- a percentage of your estate
- a specific amount of money
- a house or property
- various other arrangements that your lawyer can advise on
A solicitor or the Public Trustee will be able to help you with the various wording and documentation required in the preparation of your Will.
Should you wish to make a legal bequest in favour of our ongoing work, it is important to use the correct wording to ensure your gift is received by our organisation.

We thank you for supporting us on our journey to helping families of veterans feel empowered to live their best lives.
Families of Veterans Guild is a public benevolent institution with deductible gift recipient
status (DGR: 99481).
Our volunteers make a real and lasting difference in the lives of defence and veterans families.
We have a variety of opportunities available. The time committed is entirely up to you and is flexible based on your availability. You can volunteer time face to face or over the phone.
