Who will you remember?
ANZAC Field of Remembrance 2026
In the days leading into ANZAC Day, families need a place to remember in their own way, before the national focus shifts to the day itself. The ANZAC Field of Remembrance exists for that reason. It began in 1952, created by war widows so they could lay their own tributes, not just stand and watch.
Today, it remains a moment where war widows and veteran families are at the centre of remembrance. Each tribute carries a name, and the family who continues to carry that memory.
The Field is a place where every person is remembered by their loved ones, in their own ways.
Three ways to take part this ANZAC Month
Attend the ANZAC Field of Remembrance service in Sydney
The 2026 service will be held on Thursday 23 April 2026, 10:30am at St Andrew’s Cathedral, Sydney.
This is a unique moment widows and families gather to lay their tributes together, ahead of ANZAC Day.
Registrations are essential.
Lay a free tribute in the Virtual Field of Remembrance
The Virtual Field of Remembrance extends the tradition beyond Sydney.
It allows you to honour someone you love from anywhere, and to share that tribute with family and community. Each tribute becomes part of a growing Field — a shared place where names are visible, together.
