The Australian Government is currently seeking the views of carers on the development of a new National Carer Strategy.

It is important that as many experiences of veteran families are included as part of this consultation because right now, despite the significant care burden on at least 62,000 veterans (veterans with permanent impairment) the Government doesn’t know enough about the lack of support for veteran carers.  

It is really important that we come together and tell them. How?

• You can email us your experiences and we can combine them into our advocacy.  

We need as many voices and experiences of what it is like to care for a veteran and the impacts this has had on carers so we can ensure those are properly represented in the National Carer’s Strategy which will pave the pathway for greater supports for carers in our community.
